Cyclura nubila or the cuban rock iguana Are similar to that of the Green Iguana (Iguana iguana), but there
are some major differences. Cyclura Iguanas are generally ground-dwelling lizards, and
require a very large cage with lots of floor space. The suggested minimum space to
keep one or two adult Cyclura in captivity is usually a cage that is at the very least
10’X10’. Because of this space requirement, many cyclura owners choose to simply designate
a room of their home to free-roaming.All Cyclura are extremely territorial and can inflict are extremely territorial and can inflict serious injuries or even death to their cagemates
unless monitored carefully. The best basking temps are around 95 to 110F.i wood use a
big piece of wood or a big rock so that the iguana can get close to the heat light to bask.
They also need a UVB light (if indoors) if they dont get UVB they can get MBD, metabolic bone disease which mess up there bones. So its importent they get UVB.You need to change
the UVB lights out every 8 months. Now for feeding a big part of there diet shoud be dark
greens such as collard, dandelion, turnip, mustard, endive, escarole, and cilantro with vegetables such as squashes, green beans, snap peas, parsnips, carrots, and sweet potato.
Fruits should be fed sparingly (mainly offered as treats, or to hydrate),and can include
figs, berries, mango, papaya, melon, etc.You can also give them some superworms as treats.
And anther thing you can try is mazuri iguana diet it as all the stuff you need for them in it
but add some greens to it and some of the other stuff to it too.You have to soak the iguana
diet till its soft then give it to them.Cuban rock iguanas are smaller in lenth then green iguanas as they get 6ft but cubans get 4ft to 5ft cuban rock iguans as adults are bigger in
grith and are more stock. As babies they are runners till they get used to you handleing them
once they get use to you they tame out good you can hand feed them pet them. They dont like
being picked up alot when there full grown since they weight alot.As babies they good in 40gals but 55gal are better. As they get bigger its better and cheaper to builed your own
cage they buy one.And if you can its better to keep them outdoors that way no need to buy
lights lol. They make good pets if you have the space an time and do your reserach before you buy.
